I used to own one of those cars...Well, not exactly one of those cars. But I did. Who remembers which one it was? ^_^

I don’t remember, but I am guessing the classic?

I think I would have remembered if you had a ‘59 anything, but maybe not. Regardless, the front view is good but not quite as swanky as the back.

It was the Astra

Didn’t know they exported the Astras to the US. Is taht a Saturn badge then?
As for the yacht, Biscayne? Bel Air? Impala? Also: when I bought mine I had to choose between a 59 and a 60, tough choice.

I have thought that ‘59 has better rear part and ‘60 has the better looking front part. Swapping them together wouldn’t work as the body lines are quite different but maybe some guys with good sheet metal fabricating skills could do it.
But now that I started really to look at the body lines I realized that the front of the ‘60 models look weird in some way. I cannot pinpoint what’s wrong with it though. This is odd as you usually don’t change my opinions so quickly.

The Astra. Can’t remember if you liked it or not, though.

It may be due to the fact that the styling is trying to hide a large cross-section by making it seem wide and not very tall. The actual dimensions are not dissimilar to the much taller looking ‘59, but the rake away of the body above the bumper and the curved hood and fender lines and wide chrome edging are all designed to make it look wider and less tall than it actually is. It’s also focused on roundness above all else, while the rest of the car has many sharp edges. It’s done well, but there are hints of discord.

More like 888.2 million miles
(get it? Because it’s a Saturn)

He did. They replaced it with a far inferior Dodge Magnum. (At least I think that is what the Magnum replaced)

Either way, that car looks dapper AF.

Wrong! Replaced it with the ST. We've had that Magnum since 2005.

Not true! Saturn sold them in the US only for 2008. Canada had them from 2008-09.

They exported them to the US and Canada as Saturns for the 2008 and ‘08-09 model years respectively.

Ford was almost as good in the sideways fins game, but nobody had it nailed quite like Chevy did.

Personally I had an Astra. I miss it. Also, if that’s your house, I want.

Me too! What color and trim was yours? I wish i’d a house like that, but the one I live in with my parents is a two-story colonial.

Nothing wrong with a colonial! I had a black granite ish one. Dual panel roof and such. It was the XR. I loved how that thing handled. Best handling car I’ve owned. Should never have traded it. Also, those seats.
